(i) Revelation Verse 3.1 to Verse 3.2 As A Thief Introduction
This article will be introducing the mysticism of the verses from the book of Revelation. It is a book filled with Hinduism ,Qabalah, Astrology, Numerology. Every aspect of the Book of Revelation is about the human body and soul. These notes were taken from a YouTube video by Bill Donahue entitled Revelation ‘As A Thief’.
A more traditional scripture inter retation can be found on the Blue Letter Bible Website.
We need a chart of the 7 churches of the book of revelation which line up with the 7 chakras of the spine :
(ii) Revelation Verse 3.1 to Verse 3.2 As A Thief Scripture Analysis
Revelation 3 : 1 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.
Sardis = Vishuddha = 5th chakra , corresponds to the sign VIRGO and its symbol is communication and its planet is Mercury.
In Sardis they were famous for the Sardius stone which resembles an Adams apple, hence this was related to the throat chakra. This was also mentioned in the book of Exodus :
Exodus 28:17-20 “And thou shalt set in it [the high-priest’s breastplate] settings of stones, even four rows of stones: the first row shall be a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle: this shall be the first row. And the second row shall be an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond. And the third row a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst. And the fourth row a beryl, and an onyx, and a jasper: they shall be set in gold in their enclosings” —
seven stars = the 7 ancient planets and this is where the 7 in mysticism is derived from.
7 = in mysticism means divine intervention.
thou hast a name = a WAY (not a personal name) but a PATH. An identity.
I know thy works, that thou hast a name
that thou livest, = your way sounds very convincing religiously, seem alive with spirit and inspirational.
and art dead = but you are dead, your words are dead. Jesus compared these people to white washed tombs which looked pretty on the outside but on the inside were filled with dead men’s bones.
Similar to Jesus and the Fig Tree = leaves look very healthy but it is not producing any fruit.
Revelation 3 : 2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die = look at the following verse to understand this :
Hebrews 12 : 27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
The only things inside of us which cannot be shaken are the realms of spirit which exist beyond the separation of the mind. Any thoughts we have can be shaken but when we can meditate beyond the mind then we can reside in a place where we are unshaken. Where there is no thought there is no ego, fear ,anger, depression.
not found thy works perfect = we become perfect when we take no thought in meditation. We are then going beyond the personal and into the universal. Spiritual awareness is sometimes called virgin consciousness where the Christ can be born. This is the spiritual light within.
If he has not found our works perfect then we are not residing in the stillness of meditation, but we are in the world too much. This can be explained in the following verse when the apostle Paul said :
Hebrews 6 : 1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
Paul says leave religious doctrines behind, words are dead, faith is dead, go into the perfection through meditation and contacting the light (Christ) and sound inside.
In the book of Acts Paul shaves his head :
Acts 18 : 18 And Paul after this tarried there yet a good while, and then took his leave of the brethren, and sailed thence into Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shorn his head in Cenchrea: for he had a vow.
Here we have an apostle shaving his head and taking a vow similar to the people he met at the time. They shaved their heads as they thought that growth of hair represented the growth of the thoughts of the lower mind and so this was symbolic of finding a higher path in life. Having an apostle shave their head and take a vow is not the image that would sit well with Christian Orthodoxy.
This continues in
Acts 21 : 23 Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men which have a vow on them;
24 Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know that those things..
more head shaking here ! So in order to follow the apostle Paul one had to shave their head !
So if our works are to be perfect so that our speech (Church of Sardis, Throat Chakra) is representing God to the best it possibly can, we must enter perfection in meditation and have the vision of creation which is beyond thought.
Going back to Revelation 3: 2
strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die = strengthen those things in you which will reveal God to you which if not worked on will die. If we do not meditate then that inspiration of spiritual spark within us will die and we will just be immersed in the world fully.
