Blue Black Boy An Introduction
Below are some basic concepts of the Blue Black Boy story of Krishna.
Blue black boy = Krishna
Gods intention was not for you to run from him and be afraid of him but to go out into the forest and play with him. Christianity has painted a ‘God fearing’ culture with crucifixions, Armageddon’s, sin, wars etc.
Blue = peace
Black = meditation
The boy = the child or innocence within us. The child entering the kingdom of heaven.
The black is for the quiet place for the child.
Blue Black Boy Biblical Similarities
This also relates to biblical text:
Amos 5: 18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.
God is found in the darkness of meditation
The aspect of the child can be cross referenced to Christianity in the following verse:
Mark 10 : 15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
Since the kingdom of God is within, we must be as a child in meditation. All of our books, techniques, philosophies, beliefs will have to be surrendered if we want to find God within.
So this is why Krishna comes as a blue black boy.
The blue black boy is the moonlight lover of The Gopis:
Gopis = cowherd girls and represent the ‘buddhic’ or spiritual qualities inside of US. They take care of the beautiful cows.
Cows = the part of us that takes from the lower earth (grass) and converts it into the higher (milk). Our lower energies such as fears are converted into higher energies and transform us. This is why the cow is so sacred in India.
(Man = mind; Woman = emotions, spirit as seen throughout the bible)
ISREAL can be broken down:
IS = spirit
RA = mind
EL = the quality within.
Moonlight = this is important in that it is just a reflection of the light of the sun. The moon then reflects the light to us.
Sun = Christ consciousness which touches the Moon (our higher consciousness) which reflects the Christ light of the sun to us. This is why these stories are told in the moonlight –there is ALWAYS a reason.
This analogy of Krishna and the cowherd girls is similar to Christ and the shepherds, who sat at night under the stars tending the sheep, our spiritual qualities and the Christ is born within us.
Krishna was born in a cave of the cowherd girls.
In the Bible Christ was the bridegroom and we are the bride. He invites us into the upper chamber (higher consciousness) to plant the incorruptible seed (of spirit) within us, and the Christ is born within each one of us when we open ourselves up to this higher consciousness in meditation. This is the spiritual and true meaning of being ‘born again’ and has nothing to do with :
Going back to Krishna, the story of the blue black boy is an analogy of Gods movement within you and asking you to play with him and has nothing to do with fear, confession or sin. It is our natyre to like to play, and that is what God is asking in this story.
Blue Black Boy and The Flute
In a moonlit night came the sound of a solitary flute coming from the forest. The moon is shining down on the trees. The flute is playing beautiful music. The perfume of white water lilies was apparent. The perfume mingled with the sound from the flute and they both drifted to the cowherd girls who were asleep.
Interpretation:
Moonlight in darkness = in the darkness of meditation comes the light of Christ (sun) reflected in our higher consciousness (the moon).
As we are in meditation and the Christ consciousness begins to shine within us, there comes a sound (flute) from the forest (Gods dwelling place).
This is similar to the vineyard in the Bible and represents the same thing:
Psalms 80 : 15 And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.
Right hand = v important. As its the right side of God, right hemisphere of the brain, our spiritual side. The Garden of Eden is on the right side (to the east).
It is from the right side that this sound comes from with Krishna’s flute. The meditation groups that are promoted on this site give initiation into this sound (and subsequent light) of God.
Flute = the sound of God, called Shabd, The ‘Word’ in Genesis, the sound current. It gives the harmony within and connects us to spirit. When the flute is on the lips of God the serpent will rise. The flute is driven by the breath or prana/spirit.
The snake charming ritual is all about the rising of the Kundalini within:
Going back to the original story, the music and fragrance comes to the sleeping cowherd women.
The fact that they are sleeping indicates that our SPIRIT has been sleeping whilst we have been caught up in the world.
When the Gopis stir opening their eyes and hearts, this is our higher nature waking up.
One by one the Gopis rose and drifted like shadows to the forest. One Gopis did not go to the forest, she shut her eyes and meditated on her beloved and was joined with him on death. She melted into him as she was so disciplined to meditate upon him.
This is symbolic of the death of our lower mind in meditation. This is what baptism is all about. We have the 5 stages
Earth (our wordly starting point) – touched by higher self (water) – rise into the air (no thought in meditation)- where we are touched by the fire -baptism of the holy spirit – Christ consciousness (born again).
The story of the Gopi joining with her beloved is mirrored in the Bible:
Romans 6: 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Baptized into his death = we lose our identity as we merge with God. The drop has merged with the ocean.
The Gopi girls go to the blue black boy in the forest and he was surprised as he was surrounded by all the beautiful girls in the forest and he asked: where are your fathers, brothers, husbands?
Interpretation: the male aspects represent our minds and ego as opposed to the emotions and spirit represented by the girls. Inside of us our spirit wants us to merge with God, but our mind has another agenda. It says we have family to take care of, our job and all our worldly commitments.
Jesus puts it like this:
Matthew 26: 41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
In John chapter 4 Jesus is waiting at the well and the maiden comes along:
Jesus said he has been waiting for her, which is very similar to the Krishna story.
John 4: 16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
So both these stories illustrate that our spirit (female principle) flows to God, but the outer part (male) often cannot get untangled from worldly attachments.
Back to the Krishna story, the girls moved to Krishna and surrounded him. They said we cannot leave your LOTUS FEET, so place your lotus hands upon our aching breasts and heads.
Lotus = wisdom & truth. It grows through the water of truth and raises itself up into the air of wisdom. It has 4 green leaves standing for the 4 fold nature of man (physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual). So it is rooted in the earth (physical), grows through the water, is exposed to the air, and touched by the fire of the sun.
The part of us that touches the earth is the feet. At the feet of Krishna, the highest part of us touches the lowest part of him or God, which touches the earth. So the Gopis (our higher nature) are at Krishna’s feet as that is the lowest part of God that they can touch.
Krishna touching their Breasts = from which flows the milk which represents the flow of divine wisdom. This is not a sexual thing, its inclusion is mystical.
Krishna touching their heads = realm of higher consciousness and wisdom, enlightenment.
Blue Black Boy and The Gopis
At this point the dance begins between Krishna and the Gopis. This is called the Rasa Dance of Krishna and the Gopis:
